Fair Trade Fortnight 2010There will be a Big Brew Event at Carrs Lane on Saturday 6 March, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You will be able to send messages to the five biggest tea brands asking them to 'Go Fairtrade'. In addition you will have the opportunity to support Traidcraft's vital development work. There will be a Quiz, and many products from the latest Spring Catalogue on display and to buy. There will be time to chat and of course cups of tea and coffee and biscuits. How many cups of tea can we serve??........50?......100?.... more? Do encourage friends and neighbours to come. With only 10% of tea sold in the UK being Fairtrade, isn't it time all producers got a fair deal? People like Rita and her two sisters and orphan grandchildren in Malawi. With no money to buy essentials like fertiliser, they cannot increase their earnings. "We can go for two or three days with empty stomachs." It doesn't have to be this way. Come and find out more of what Traidcraft is doing to alleviate poverty. Read more about the Traidcraft Big Brew campaign. Our Fair Trade Shop and its Big Brew Event was featured in the Birmingham Mail Shopping Guide supplement on 15 February 2010. It led the front page, and there was a full page inside. This had a good article about fair trade and Traidcraft, as well as photos of four volunteers and goods in the shop. A shorter version can be seen on the Birmingham Mail website Document Actions |
