Church Room

Our largest and most flexible space, the Church Room offers a number of different options.  

Maximum Room Capacity

Theatre style - 350 (including seating on the balcony)
Boardroom - call for details.

This room is also suitable for other layouts including U-shape, cabaret and more.  (The seats are in linked sets of two or three, which are easy to move around.)  Speak to our dedicated and helpful staff who will be able to advise you on the many possibilities.

Accessibility

The Church Room has an underfloor hearing loop system, and has level access from Moor Street Ringway (apart from the small balcony).  The Ladies and Gents toilets on the same floor each have a cubicle suitable for wheelchairs.   For more information go to rooms with disabled access.

Additional Information

The lighting was replaced in January 2013, with a digitally controlled LED system which allows the lighting distribution and levels to be changed for different room uses, using a simple touch screen.

An integrated PA system is included in the hire (upgraded February 2013 with more sensitive mikes).

The stage gives increased speaker visibility where required, and with its removable furniture is ideal for theatrical events.

The room benefits from a high quality Yamaha grand piano, suitable for recitals.  A Technics digital piano is also available for hire in the Church Centre.

There is a small balcony, accessible by stairs inside the Church Room.  It houses the organ console.
