Worship in the WeekWednesday Lunchtime Communion | Monday Evenings | Wednesday Evenings Lunchtime Communion ServiceWednesday at 1.15pm You are welcome to eat your lunch before or after worship; hot drinks are provided afterwards. A simple, shared celebration of Communion is at the heart of the service, but time is given to pray for individuals who have asked to be remembered in prayers at Carrs Lane; there is also an opportunity for ‘open prayer’.
Evening ActivitiesSome Monday and Wednesday evening activities can be seen below, offering the chance to share in worship. Please look through and get involved with any groups or activities which inspire you. Monday Evening WorshipFood4Thought
Second and Fourth Monday of the month during term This congregation for young adults (20's and 30's) is run in conjunction with Aston University Free Church Chaplaincy. It meets in the Martin Luther King Centre in Aston University for a short, informal service at 7.30pm (although punctuality has not been a redeeming feature of this group!). Worship lasts for no more than half-an-hour and draws a variety of students, volunteers and others: all are welcome, whatever their circumstances. Worship is followed by a shared meal, for which no charge is made: sometimes we eat out, sometimes food is shared on the premises. Other social events enliven the shared life of this group. Wednesday WorshipWednesdays offer an opportunity to pray and offer devotions halfway through the week. With services each Wednesday lunchtime (see the top of the page) and on the first Wednesday evening of each month, there is something for everyone to get involved with. Prayers for Healing and the wider worldFirst Wednesday of the month For over 20 years, members of the Carrs Lane congregation have met to offer prayers for healing. This tradition continues, with a group meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at 7.00pm in the 'Lounge'. The prayers for healing respond to the daily, weekly and ongoing requests for prayer from the wider community. To find out more about the ministry of healing at Carrs Lane, go to the Healing Ministry page. Prayers are also offered for the wider world. All are welcome. To leave a prayer request to be included in the prayers, please complete the form at the bottom of the Prayers page. Document Actions |
